Student Teaching

The Township of Union Public Schools is pleased to welcome education majors to apply for placement in our district.  We have fostered positive relationships with local universities and host many student interns from

Kean, Seton Hall and Montclair University.

Our district offers a range of diverse learning environments and teaching opportunities; students gain valuable hands-on classroom experience and opportunities designed to support their growth as effective educators.

The process for applying for a student teaching internship is straightforward.:

Steps to Request Student Teaching in the Township of Union Public Schools:

1.  Contact your advisor letting them know that you would like to apply to student teach at the

     Township of Union Public  Schools.

2. The university’s placement office will submit the request (including the requirements)

on university letterhead to TUPS, Ann Hart ([email protected]).

3. Upon approval, the district will secure an appropriate placement.

4. TUPS will return the completed placement form to the university’s placement office and submit the

placement for board of education approval.

5. The university will notify the intern/student teacher of the outcome and placement information.
